Meeting a craftsman - Roberu

The camera cases, camera straps and smart phone cases are the top selling items in the Roberu collection. iPhone users not only in Japan but also in Asia and in Europe like to possess Roberu’s uniquely designed leather cases.

We visited the shop/atelier of Roberu. Many antique pieces which the owner had collected from flea markets all over the world were nicely decorated with their leather items.

There is an atelier in the back of the shop where they handcrafts the Roberu collection.They use a sawing machine and hand sawing to adjust to the character of each leather by checking with their hands. That is what makes Roberu different from the others are made in the mass production.
